This is a sales contract outlining the terms and conditions of a purchase of artwork between a merchant (or artist) and an art collector. The contract is designed to be filled out by the parties, and is simple and self-explanatory. The contract allows for the easy identification of the artwork and the parties. Terms include sales price, method of delivery, payment terms, risk of loss, copyright, alterations, governing law, a mediation and as is clause, and severability in case of partial invalidity. Agreement was drafted by Cynthia Hodges, J.D., LL.M., M.A., a Washington-state licensed attorney who has experience in art law. More information at Disclaimer: Purchase or use of this contract does not establish an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is only formed once a fee agreement is signed by the attorney and the client.
