Description

Every year, approximately a million pets are put to sleep when their owners pass away. This pet trust is designed to provide for your pets so that this unfortunate fate will not befall them when you pass. The pet trust is simple and self-explanatory, and is meant to be incorporated into your Last Will and Testament (consult your attorney on how to do that). The pet trust allows for the easy identification of the animals covered under the trust (up to four, but more can be added). Terms include appointment of the trustee, the caretaker, the monthly stipend, remainder beneficiaries (up to two, but more can be added), euthanasia and burial, governing law, and more. The pet trust was drafted by Cynthia Hodges, J.D., LL.M., M.A., a Washington-state licensed attorney who has experience in animal and probate law. More information at www.cynthiahodges.com/law. Disclaimer: Purchase or use of this pet trust does not establish an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is only formed once a fee agreement is signed by the attorney and the client.
