Setting up your PayPal account

To sell, be paid, or spend balance on Distribly, you need to have a verified PayPal account connected to your Distribly profile. You can create and connect a PayPal account easily with Distribly from your Payment settings.

Opening a PayPal account

If you don't already have a PayPal account, Distribly can create one for you.

Go to your Payment settings and click the Create a new PayPal account link. We just need a couple of details from you to setup the account:

  • Email address, the one you want to use for your PayPal account
  • First and last name
  • Address
  • Date of birth.

Once your details are confirmed, a new PayPal account is created and automatically associated with your Distribly profile.

Verifying your PayPal account

PayPal verification shows that your account is more likely to be legitimate. You verify your account by supplying additional evidence of your identity to PayPal.

If you already have a PayPal account, but it isn't verified:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account and go to the account overview
  2. Click on Get verified; it is in small writing beneath where it says Welcome
  3. Fill in the required information and click Continue
  4. PayPal will charge and then refund a small amount onto your credit card, or in some countries your bank account. This can take a few days to happen, so be patient.

Connecting your PayPal account to Distribly

It's easy to connect your PayPal account to your Distribly profile. Just go to your Payment settings and click Connect your existing PayPal account. You'll be asked to log in to PayPal, and when you return to Distribly, you can see whether your account is PayPal verified.

Once you connect a verified PayPal account to Distribly it's not possible to change this for security reasons. You can always use another account if the one you connected isn't verified.

Adding additional currencies to your PayPal account

To add additional currencies to your PayPal account:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account and go to Profile
  2. Click on My Money in the menu on the left hand side
  3. Under PayPal Balance click Currencies
  4. Click on the drop-down menu to select a new currency and click the Add Currency button.
